Clinical Professor Gavin Marx is a medical oncologist and an associate in clinical practice with the Northern Haematology Oncology Group (NHOG). He is actively involved in the multidisciplinary care of patients at Sydney Adventist Hospital and is also a visiting oncologist at GenesisCare Frenchs Forest.
Professor Marx is Chair of the Section of Oncology at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Clinical Director of the San Integrated Cancer Centre, a comprehensive, patient-focused cancer service providing coordinated multidisciplinary care.
He is also Director of the San Clinical Trials Unit, which is actively involved in investigator-initiated, pharmaceutical-sponsored and collaborative group clinical trials.
Professor Marx has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, review articles and book chapters. His research interests include the treatment of prostate, breast and colorectal cancers.
He is strongly committed to medical education and has extensive experience teaching and training medical students, junior doctors and allied health professionals. He is also a supervisor of advanced trainees in medical oncology at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
